We thought that your home was very nicely furnished and our room was extremely well equipped. We were made to feel most welcome and look forward to a possible return visit some time in the future.

Very friendly proprietors. We had an upstairs room which had a great view over the bay and the mountains. Definitely recommended.

Experienced most friendly and at home welcome. We, parents and 15 y.o. daughter from Japan, enjoyed short stay very much. We will definitely return to this wonderful B&B. Lilla, the owner, is a such a nice person, willing to share the time and give information you need. The restaurant she recommended was also excellent. Thank you for your kindness, Lilla.

We will certainly recommend Lilla's Nikau Lodge to anyone who intends travelling to Kaikoura or to the northern end of NZ's South Island. Lilla made us very welcome and meeting her was like meeting a long time friend. Lilla's breakfast table is a delightful sight in the morning. Best wishes to you Lilla. Sue & Dave

Friendly, delightful house, elegant and comfortable room. Lovely host, kind and very helpful with a wealth of local knowledge. Our stay at Nikau Lodge was a very special experience!

Throughout our trip to NZ we stayed in Quamark 4* or 4* plus rated accommodation but Debbie and I both agreed that Nikau Lodge was by far the best and that is in large part down to Lilla, and her wonderful hospitality.

A wonderful home away from home with a wonderful friendly host who cannot do too much for you. Everything you hope for in a B&B, spotless, with every detail attended to. The view of the mountains at sunrise is incomparable and worth waking up for.

Our stay at Nikua Lodge was short - just a couple of nights. We couldn't have been made more welcome or more comfortable. The panoramic view from our room was quite spectacular. Our hostess is a mine of information and was most helpful as we planned our activities. She even gave us a lift to the station and to the start of our walk around the beautiful Kaikoura peninsula. We'd love to visit again one day.

My wife and I stayed in a number of B&Bs on our recent trip to NZ. Nikau Lodge was one of our favorites. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Nikau offers easy proximity to Kaikoura. But the best part is the owner, Lilla Fitzwater. She's charming, friendly and very helpful. She helped us find a great restaurant and a good local hike. We would have missed both without her help!

I am satisfied with this Lodge's service quality and hospitality which is most important fundamental for B&B. So If there is an occasion to visit New Zealand again,I will choose this B&B Certainly.

Stayed one night. Beautiful accommodations, outstanding breakfast, hosts very friendly and helpful, helped us book whale watching, wireless internet and computer available, hot tub, porch swing, glorious views of the beach and mountains from upstairs windows, and careful attention to many small details.

We've stayed at numerous B&B's and the thing that stands out at this B&B is the 'Manager' -- she's terrific. She's energetic, extremely interesting, anxious to make sure that their guests know where to view the best in Kaikoura and eat at the most unique places. The breakfasts were very enjoyable. She makes this B&B special.

Lila made this a most enjoyable place. The breakfast was excellent and Lila's guidance of what to do and where to go made The Nikau Lodge a great place to stay. Eating lobster (crayfish) at a roadside stand by the beach, which she suggested, was wonderful. Next time swimming with the dolphins.

Quentin and Jane are excellent hosts who couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The room with its own ensuite was well presented, nicely furnished and fitted with every ammenity. There were home made biscuits available with tea making facilities and plenty of other complimentary drinks. Guests could relax in the lounge room downstairs with a good book/TV or in the garden. A welcoming place to stay!

My family and friends spent 4 nights at Nikau Lodge in Kaikoura. We were in Kaikoura to attend our daughter's wedding. The Lodge was all that the owners Jane and Quentin proclaimed it to be. Clean, relaxing, beautiful roses and gardens not to mention the view. Jane and Quentin went out of their way to make sure our every need was catered for. They were not present with us because we needed all six bedrooms. Thank you so very much Jan and Quentin. Maggie and Lawrence Mikkelsen Auckland.
